The set opens in the harbour: yachts and small boats moored below the painted fronts, and the wooden fishing boats still tied up by the quay.

Then it climbs. From the hill you look down on the rooftops and the boats in the bay, on the village curled round its inlet, and across the promontory to an abbey on its beach in the next bay.

The headland and the water come next: the lighthouse on its rock, a green cliff dropping into the sea, paddleboards on the clear water of a cove and a wooden boat crossing open sea. Two frames of the evening close it, when the cliffs turn copper and the sun goes down behind the headland.
